Crafting amazing digital experiences

PROFESSIONALWEB DEVELOPER

I'm Advik. I study electronics at VIT, but most nights I'm writing software. The kind that keeps standing when real people show up.

Backends in Go. Interfaces with React. Robust for hundreds of users: take it apart until it makes sense, then build it properly.

Papers by CodeChef-VIT

Two million visits and counting.

Where 40,000+ VIT students find past exam papers. I worked heavily on the admin portal and restructured the Gemini pipeline that reads every uploaded paper, so 2,000+ papers stay organised without anyone tagging them by hand.

Railway Maintenance Platform

From inbox chaos to one record per issue.

Maintenance reports used to live in email threads. Now they go into a Go and PostgreSQL system with Redis on the hot paths, RBAC, JWT sessions and an audit trail nobody can rewrite.

Mikon

A training app that knows which muscles are cooked.

Build programs across lifting, calisthenics, plyometrics, cardio and sport, with fatigue and volume tracked on every muscle as you plan. A drag and drop builder, 900+ exercises, a phone-first workout logger and imports from Strong and Hevy.

The journey so far

Not exactly a straight road.

  1. Stop 01

    Hello, world

Started coding in 10th grade. It felt like a superpower: if I could imagine it, I could build it.

  2. Stop 02

    First paycheck

Built a site for a friend for my first ₹5K, then landed ₹15K. Bought my own phone at 15.

  3. Road work

    JEE prep

Oh well. The laptop went into storage and the road closed for a while.

  4. Stop 03

    VIT Vellore

New college, new city, starting from scratch. Got back to code and started building right away.

  5. Stop 04

    CodeChef-VIT

Got into one of the top coding clubs on campus and started working on much bigger projects.

  6. Stop 05

    Papers

One of the biggest projects I've worked on. Taught me the most about teams and building together.

  7. Stop 06

    ₹1 lakh+

Crossed a lakh in revenue from client projects. Treated myself to some cool stuff, obviously.

  8. Next exit

    Cooler stuff

Working on it right now. Buckle up, this one leaves the road.

Keep exploring

The toolbox

Go on, grab one and throw it.

  1. What I think in

Go for fast, boring-in-a-good-way backends. TypeScript for anything with a UI.

    • Go
    • TypeScript
    • Python
    • Java
    • SQL
  2. What I build with

Next.js and React up front, Node and Express behind, TanStack Query in between.

    • Next.js
    • React
    • Node.js
    • Express
    • TanStack Query
    • Zustand
  3. Where it lives

Postgres when it matters, Redis when it needs to be fast, Docker so it runs anywhere.

    • PostgreSQL
    • MongoDB
    • Redis
    • Docker
    • AWS
    • Google Cloud
    • CI/CD
  4. How it stays safe

Roles, sessions and audit trails by default. And poking at my own stuff before anyone else does.

    • RBAC
    • JWT & OAuth2
    • Burp Suite
    • Wireshark
    • Nmap
  5. The new stuff

LLMs wired into real products: retrieval, embeddings and automating the boring parts.

    • RAG
    • LLM APIs
    • Vector search

Got somethingto build?

Websites, web apps, backends or software for the factory floor. If it needs to work when real people show up, I'd like to hear about it.

That's the storyso far.

Always up for a good problem, a side project, or a long conversation about why the build is red. My inbox is open.
